Indigo blue and cheddar yellow Make a very striking combination.
Indigo dyes were used in quilting before the 1830’s. It varied in colour from almost black to dark navy and blue. The
indigos were also made with overlaying prints in orange and cheddar yellow.
Indigo blue dyed fabrics were very popular in 19th century quilts as well as contemporary American quilts.
This Penny Rose Cheddar and Indigo collection brings a beautiful selection of patterns from several antique fabric
collectors. The patterns are reproduced in the original colors and patterns taken from the antique swatches.
